It’s that wonderful time again - whether you’re a seasoned contributor or first-timer, Xequals Wellington is hosting Contribution Day for DrupalSouth 2026. Get ready to give back to the community on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, 9am-3pm!

How do I get a ticket?

• Anyone that has already registered for DrupalSouth 2026 is eligible. So if you have tickets to that, you can come along.

What’s Contribution Day? (And why is it important?)

• A Drupal Contribution Day is a community event where people come together to improve the Drupal platform; by writing code, fixing bugs, improving documentation, designing UX, translating content, or helping triage issues. 
• It’s important because Drupal is open source, so its quality, security, and innovation depend on voluntary contributions from its global community. These events help newcomers learn how to contribute, strengthen collaboration between developers and non-developers, and ensure the platform continues to evolve in a sustainable, community-driven way.

What should I expect?

• Contribution day will be from 9am-3pm
• Lunch will be provided
• Leading up to and during the event, we communicate via #DrupalSouth-Code-Sprint on Slack. If you’re new to Slack, follow this guide on how to get started.
• Now you’re going to have to brace yourself for this - you’re going to have a great time and meet a lot of really cool people that, just like you, are part of something really big, and really helpful.
• Your participation helps build your contribution levels for the certified partner program

How do I get there?

• Address is 93E Cuba St, Te Aro, Wellington, New Zealand. The entrance is up the stairs between Witcoulls and Hallenstein Brothers - right near Wellington’s famous Bucket Fountain, so if you see that, you know you’re in the right place.
• Please note that there is NO elevator access, stairs only

• Xequals are a NZ, and AU-based digital agency that specialise in custom web, app, and GovCMS development, within the Drupal ecosystem. To say we’re passionate about Drupal and giving back to the open-source community is an understatement.
